Do you know the way to san jose?

June 13, 2009 · 1 Comment

We’re hopping on a plane tomorrow to attend monday’s Social Recruiting Conference at Google HQs in Mountain View California. The conference is being put on by ERE Media and promises to be an exciting event about the world of social media recruiting.

The event is sold out but you’ll be able to watch a lot of it on the internet via live stream. Watch it here.

This blog was one of the first ever resources for learning about how to use social media to recruit. The dawn of this kind of conference is further proof that social media is a viable recruiting/branding tool.

And remember folks, its not about posting jobs…its about communicating with your candidates.

San Jose here we come.

Updated distribution channels

January 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment

We’ve updated our distribution list for Jobs in Pods. Some new podcast sites were added such as TruMix, PodcastDirectory and Odeo. We also removed some blog sites that were no longer displaying our audio.

These channels represent one of the ways we spread jobcasts across the internet on behalf of our clients. We push out the content to places where podcast people go.

channels

Each time a new jobcast gets published on Jobsinpods.com, these other sites automatically pick up our feed and display the audio. Two exceptions would be Indeed and JobRadio.fm. We have to add the jobcasts manually to those sites.

New Case Study: Exempla Healthcare, 17,000 downloads

October 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

A CASE STUDY IN JOBCASTING

Exempla Healthcare based in Colorado approached us to produce a series of jobcasts which featured interviews from Nurse to CEO. They wanted to showcase their jobs and culture and reach out to job seekers in a unique way that made them stand out.

CHALLENGES

Everyone knows healthcare is one of the fastest growing industries and hiring is very competitive. Companies find themselves competing for a smaller amount of qualified candidates, particularly nurses. Exempla asked Jobs in Pods to help “humanize” themselves in the eyes of job seekers.

MEASUREABLE RESULTS

Exempla commissioned 3 Jobcasts, one with the CEO, one with a Nurse, and one with their head recruiter. We recommended that Exempla use our plug-in on their corporate career site so that their traffic could hear the audio.

Adding the plug-in to their site has resulted in a massive amount of traffic to their jobcasts. As of October 2008, Exempla’s jobcasts have been downloaded more than 17,000 times.

ROI

At a cost of just under $1,000, Exempla Healthcare’s three podcasts have resulted in a ROI of 0.16 cents per download. (total downloads divided by cost)

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

Gillian Sloan, Recruitment Manager for Exempla Lutheran Hospital comments: “using jobcasts demonstrates Exempla’s creativity in connecting with our talent pool and strengthening our employment brand in an innovative way”.

She also received the following feedback:

· We had a Nursing leadership candidate remark on our jobcasts and how they influenced him positively to interview with us.

· We had a rep from an Advertising Agency compliment us on having jobcasts on our website – to his knowledge we are the only healthcare organization using jobcasts.

· The nurse recruiter at one of our sister hospitals reports that he gets very positive comments from candidates.

New pricing

September 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

We’ve adjusted our pricing structure slightly to reflect some changes here at Jobs in Pods. Effective immediately we will have 2 tiers of prices based on the number of people we interview for each jobcast. A “one on one” interview now costs $349 while a jobcast with 2-3 of your employees now will cost $399.

The reason for this new pricing is that more of our clients are increasingly requesting we interview multiple people at the same time. This factor increases our work load in terms of prep and editing so we need to charge a slightly higher price for the additional work.

We think our prices are still a very cost effective product especially when you consider one jobcasts costs less than a job posting on Monster/CareerBuilder.
