Intel Corp Confirms first hire via Podcast
February 18, 2008 at 11:22 am | In Success Stories | No CommentsWe have confirmed through our client contact at Intel that their first podcast from December has resulted in a hire. This is the second such success story for Jobs in Pods. Read about the first here.
Their jobcast was about a Marketing Manager. Jodi McMaster, whom we interviewed for that jobcast says:
“I went back to one of my managers I did hire who reports to me and she did say that is how she found out about the job and she said she loved it. So we do have a win on this”
We actually followed up with the successful candidate who says she found the jobcast by googling some info on Intel. According to her email, she loved the fact that the podcast gave her more info than a written job description and also that Jodi talked about her expectations of the role.
So once again we have proved the value of podcasting your jobs. Thanks to Intel Corp for believing in us.
First confirmed hire through Jobs in Pods
September 28, 2007 at 2:07 pm | In Success Stories | No CommentsWe just spoke with Chuck Chesler of Village Office Supply in Norwalk, CT. He is the President of the company and did a podcast with us back in April where he described his opening for Outside Sales Reps. Over the course of the past few months his podcast has been downloaded more than 360 times.
Several job seekers have contacted him after listening to his jobcast. In fact, he brought two of them in for an interview. He hired the second candidate who is now in his 3rd week of training.
Perhaps this jobcasting idea works after all!
Success Metrics Update
August 10, 2007 at 8:41 pm | In Success Stories | No CommentsSome have asked what kind of “success” Jobs in Pods has achieved in terms of driving candidates to the employer. So here are 3 examples of successful results from podcasting your jobs.
1. In a podcast we did for Jobs in Pods seeking work at home podcasters we received over 20 resumes, of which we interviewed 7 candidates and hired 3.
2. In this podcast from April, Chuck Chesler of Village Office Supply in Norwalk CT was contacted by two candidates who heard it. He interviewed both and hired the 2nd one.
3. Andrew Figgins of Chicago Sportscast Network, has interviewed 6 quality candidates from the jobcast he did back in May.
So yes, I consider the site to be a huge success thus far. And remember, the primary goal of these podcasts is to promote the ‘employment brand‘ and what its like to work there. The secondary goal is to drive candidates to apply on the employers’ website. On both counts we are doing just that.
Some stats from a jobcast
April 10, 2007 at 9:04 pm | In Success Stories | No CommentsMany have asked about metrics when jobcasting. Well, here’s an example of the effectiveness of Jobs in Pods.
One of the first podcasts we did was for our own hiring needs. We were seeking a part-time podcaster to assist with our clients. From that brief 3 minute podcast we received over 20 very qualified applications. Since it was a work at home job it was picked up by several work at home sites which linked back to our site. The total number of plays & downloads so far has numbered 202.
